AI, or Artificial Intelligence, refers to the capability of machines or computer programs to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks include things like learning, reasoning, problem-solving, understanding natural language, and even perceiving the environment.

In simpler terms, AI allows machines to mimic or simulate human-like thinking processes, enabling them to perform tasks that traditionally require human intelligence.

EXAMPLES OF AI

VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS

Examples: Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa

Explanation: These are AI-powered virtual assistants that can understand and respond to spoken commands, helping with tasks like setting reminders, answering questions, and playing music.

SOCIAL MEDIA ALGORITHMS

Examples: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube recommendations Explanation: AI algorithms analyse user behaviour and preferences to suggest content that users might find interesting, such as recommended posts, videos, or music.

FACIAL RECOGNITION

Examples: Face unlock on smartphones

Explanation: AI can recognize and authenticate individuals based on facial features, providing a secure and convenient way to unlock devices

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Length: 2 1/2 Months with daytime and afterwork options.

Mode of Delivery:

Online - This course will be delivered via the Hybrid Flexible modality. It will be delivered using interactive online lectures, online discussions, and practical demonstrations.

 

COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, the students will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  • Understand and become proficient with Artificial Intelligence, including fundamentals and standards.
  • Comprehend and communicate Artificial Intelligence concepts.
  • Understand generative AI, AI training, collaborative technologies, and Large Language Models.
  • Use AI tools, tactics, and procedures.
  • Contribute to AI research applications and data collection initiatives.
  • Develop cyber literacy competencies and apply them to Generative AI projects.
  • Use AI and machine learning to monitor and manage content relevance (scalable, unbiased, localized, curation, multimedia), and data collection (pattern recognition, speech data, text data, sensor, image, and video)
  • Present and implement their learnings in real-life use cases.

Job Placement

Each graduate to receive work assignments with earning potential of $15,000 USD/year (variety of roles/ assignments)

  • A portion of students to work onsite at the Protexxa Operations Centre for high-touch assignments (evening, nights, and weekend shifts)
  • A portion of students to work remotely as independent contractors with support from the Operations Centre
